일요일 공부해

I’ve been in pain since yesterday -.- my knee is killing me :/ means I’ve barely been moving just heat rub and some tablets for inflammatory ^^;; so I feel alright today ㅋㅋ

I’ve been looking through my textbooks (the little selection I have!) and omg I haven’t ever finished a book to the end ~ I’ve gotten mid-way, close to the end, and barely past the first chapter.

~ Korean Grammar In Use (Intermediate) I’m on chapter 3 and this is a re-read because I stopped for so long and forgot what the hell I was doing.

WTF!!!

~ Integrated Korean (Beginning 1) first textbook I ever bought and I got almost to the end I think I had about 20 pages till I finished and I just stopped. Urgh.

~ Yonsei Korean 4-1 twochois sent me this book because I chose it but I didn’t anticipate the difficulty of it -.- I have only gotten to the page where there is the beautiful 만화 photos ^^ I often read that because I like it hehe.

~ Complete Guide to TOPIK (Basic) amazingly when using this book its the closest I’ve ever gotten to finishing any of the textbooks. I actually got past it all and stopped just 5 pages shy of the end, the last mock test and its a little hard so I always say I’ll do it later. Later isn’t coming huh? 🙂

All my other books aren’t textbooks and I’m currently using the others that are! The 이화 한국어 & 연세 읽기 but dont get me wrong those textbooks I never got to the end of almost always help me when I have a new one xD so I’m confident I’ll get to the end.

Because yesterday when I looked at the grammar pattern -에 비해(서) I looked in the Korean Grammar in Use text first and didn’t find anything sadly, so I then used the 외국어로 서의 한국어 문법 사전 and I found it with a nice amount of sentences to help me. Although I still don’t understand it ; usage wise I mean I’ll have to work on it some more ^^

So in the end, everything of mine gets used sooner or later which is why I never beat myself up for not having finished any textbook I read ; except for novels and 만화책 because I should always get to the end but when I get into it I’m sure it wouldn’t take long. Or am I kidding myself?

Today I’m doing the remaining bits of 이화 한국어 2-1 chapter 2 so I can move onto chapter 3 and finish it today if possible, because I’ll be busy all next week and I’ll have very little time to study Korean ㅠㅠ so making the most of this Sunday x.x

Just in case u couldn’t hear the song in my head while I was typing away on my phone in my study surrounded by all my textbooks it was 2NE1 “PLEASE DON’T GO” I love this song so much! I feel like playing what I consider to be classics in my music-world next up will be 소녀시대 “BAD GIRL” (Japanese)

xoxo enjoy your Sunday! What will u be upto 🙂

  1. I thought I was the only one who never finished textbooks lol. The closest things to a “textbook” I finished were 이화 한국어 1-1(I would have never been able to finish this without taking a break and learning the patterns from other sources so I used the end of it as a small review), TTMIK level 1 and 2(I don’t have the actual textbooks, but I heard the format is the same), and Semester 1 of the graded readers on koreanlab.com. The only reason I consider the last one a textbook, is because they actually have a printed version and it’s used to help parents teach their children hanja. I really need to finish my other books, so I can get more, but I’ve grown to be a bit lazy when it comes to textbook work x.x.

    1. Nope, you’re not the only one ^^ I got it pretty bad too, oh you count the ttmik lessons as books too? Well then I need to re-calculate lol i have finished textbooks before hehe (several. that makes me feel better ^^) but yeah its not a big deal tbh haha I sure in time textbook learning will pick up 😉

  2. I have a hard time finishing textbooks too. u__u I go jumping from one to the other, back and forth. Well, they eventually get used up, but nevertheless. ^^
I really need to put effort into it and study more systematically, so I make better use of time (and can buy more textbooks without feeling guilty ups). ^u^

    1. Haha its crazy ^^;; same like me although I tend to jump and only remember when I need something “OH that other textbook, where is it???” Like u said it all gets used up eventually, still….

I agree, well, if u have any tips on how to systematically use ur textbooks and time let me know pleasssse :))

  3. That second paragraph is all me. I get to the middle, the very beginning, near the end… Basically, I get everywhere except the end of the book until months or years later. The same thing goes for online resources too. They’re not exempt from the curse. XD And then of course, when I’m in the middle of a couple of books that always means, “Okay, time for more books!” I’ve made progress though. I’m working on finishing up some materials so I can start finishing others.
