I’m not going to buy novels.
I want to, but I won’t purchase something that is going to take me close to a billion years to read!
For the 신사의 품격 novels I love those, I loved the drama, more like obsessed with it! ^^ and i am happy I bought them for myself but I have a regret ~ the one book I bought I don’t think I’ll even bother reading.
From now on I’m only buying textbooks. Anything I find useful and interesting.
I’m buying it.
Y’all got it? 🙂 cool.
That’s what I’m doing from now so its not really the end of my buying addiction ; more like the beginning actually. For textbooks.
Tonight I’m reading my 신품 novel and reading all my textbooks one after the other.
1. starting with Korean Grammar In Use (Intermediate)
2. Yonsei Reading 2
3. Ewha 2-1
I’m finishing 2-1 tonight so if I loose it I won’t care, alright. Then I’ll start 2-2 with a 2 week deadline.
Laziness will not interfere with what I want to do.
I refuse to let it interfere with my plans. Pain too, I will ignore all pain. Or block it out with painkillers :p
Plus a new focus in my mind and Korean learning : learn lots of grammar! ^^
What about a 만화 책? Since you’re a fan of 용화 , I recommend 넌 내게 반했어. I find 만화 책 helpful in improving conversation skill plus pictures engage me to read more.
Oh! I really really want the 넌내반 manhwa books! ^^ I keep wanting to buy them but keep taking them out of my basket. I think next time I’ll definitely check them out! 🙂 Thanks 🙂
You won’t regret buying 만화 책 and won’t get bored reading it.
Humhum, I’ve also bought a book I ended up not really using. ;__;
On another topic, I actually never bought one but I think I saw “visual novels” based on Korean dramas. Maybe those would be at a good level, if you ever want to read something related to a drama you like. ^^ I wish they had those for some Japanese dramas. ^u^
Luckily I am already reading something for a drama I like and loving it ^^ ~ and visual novels actually piss me off I have 4 of them already for 슬픈연가 but I haven’t read them really because of the dialect they contain. But even though they upset me I’m still going to buy a few with people I feel like staring at urm *cough* But don’t they have lots of books for Japanese dramas? I thought they did.
Japanese dramas are often based on existing novels or manga series, so they don’t make those “comic books with images from the drama” like I’ve seen for the Korean ones. Or maybe I’m the one not finding them! ^u^
Giving up book addiction? Not easy. What’s the quote? Something about if I had to choose between books and food, I choose books? For me, I need variety. Yes, textbooks are probably the best bang-for-the-buck in terms of dense information to learn. However, a little variety can give you choices. I need choices. I won’t always be in a text book mood.
The rule I give myself (which I mostly follow except for the bender I went on a year ago when I discovered my first Korean book store in NYC) is that I must finish the books I have not read yet before buying a new one. That means whenever I finish a textbook, I can then buy myself a new book. Makes finishing a textbook exciting.
I can’t live by that rule because sometimes i just don’t like the textbook I currently have and I need a break. A.k.a buying a new one 🙂
