Since the weekend I have totally been enjoying writing in Korean 😀
I don’t know what happened, but I all of a sudden loved writing, it was amazing. Now I am pretty much writing all the time. Which is great since I am using the Korean I learn (and have learned *)
I actually forgot my password to my lang-8 account (the lessumin2394 one) and landed up having to just open a new one in the meantime. ┬──┬◡ﾉ(° -°ﾉ) I wasn’t happy but it doesn’t matter I guess, shouldn’t be upset over not being able to use my same account! ._.
I have also vowed to stop using English on my instagram posts 🙂 its going well. (/^-^(^ ^*)/ which of course gives me warm fuzzy language learning feels of happiness ~ (ી(΄◞ิ౪◟ิ‵)ʃ)♥ this happened after I wrote an entire page of 한국어 in my notebook. I was like “wow. you can write if you see your mind to it” and then I decided :
I declare…you must write~never fail to use Korean. USE IT. （・∀・）

Japanese is also going well, was having an issue with Katakana so I downloaded an app on App Store (iTunes) and its helping along with making new mnemonics for them. Same sound different character = beginning stage confusion!! Someone did warn me about that, the similarity in features of Katakana to Hangul, said it would confuse me and I am not gonna lie it did for a few hours days : every time I saw コ I kept thinking the sound was “ku” for 그 ~ insanity I know. （ ´∀｀）

Everything is going well with my language learning ヽ( ★ω★)ノ at the moment that is, always calm before the storm isn’t it? By the way can’t wait for my 시크랫가든 novels to arrive ( ‘з’)/
Together with this lovely app I found I shall retrain my mind not to think some of the characters are Hangul 😉 and continue to write while I love it XD

What’s the book in the first picture? Yeah I need to write more Korean. But lately I have been practicing my typing and it’s been really fun and rewarding. On my macbook, I used to type in English and it would come out in Korean but I changed the keyboard to how a real Korean keyboard is so that when I move to Korea I won’t feel so lost when I have to type on their computers. I do need to write more and learn more grammar. Lately I have focused mostly on vocab.. Anyway good luck with katakana! Even as a person who lives in Japan and has studied Japanese forever, whenever I have to read words that are based off English and written in katakana, I read really slowly…. ugh haha why do they use so much fake english T.T
The book is Korean Compositions ^^ How did you change it on Macbook? I don’t use a macbook because of the way the Korean typing is, but glad you’re typing “more native” I guess that would help with not being confused!! 🙂 Good luck with writing more too, I know how tedious it can be when it won’t listen (the Korean in your head…and putting it on paper)! Thank you, and I actually wonder haha, just make a Japanese native word for it and make my life simpler lol. Haha.

The book looks good! Have you reviewed it before? I really shouldn’t buy anymore Korean books though since I have enough to study with for free or books I already own. The typing thing…. my macbook has a few different korean keyboards but I chose the one that didnt require memorizing korean keys and is just like if you type G – A you get 가. My boyfriend has trouble though because he couldnt type on my macbook so it was kind of a pain haha so now hopefully I am doing us both a favor. I started using the native keyboard last week but I am already pretty good at typing with it.
My writing is okay (handwriting wise) but my hurdle now is coming up with sentences on my own. I can listen and understand most things but answering or explaining things is frustrating. My boyfriend knows more English now so he helps me out or just lets me say words in English if I don’t know them, but once I get to Korea that can’t work with everyone…. I just need more practice creating sentences. I remember the same process for Japanese where I just had to learn by speaking to more people when to use what grammar and so on. I think my mind is trying to freak me out that I don’t know how to say what I want, but in reality I am a much better reader and listener at this point in Korean than I was for Japanese after the same amount of time. I am proud of myself and having other bloggers who study the same language is really fun! I never had this with Japanese since I mostly did it on my own.
