I’m learning…I’m learning!!! ☆*・゜゚・*(^O^)/*・゜゚・*☆
At almost midnight last night I basically decided to learn Hiragana (Japanese syllabary) and thoroughly learn them, its the first step and I want to take the right path. I started with the vowels ~ which I had learnt about a week ago (or more) but to be certain I started with them again.
Went through those, and started on the next column.
I found out that the Hiragana system (using a chart) goes from left to right – starting with the vowels and then the next column is the “K” sounds with the vowels added to “K” sounds. Which I didn’t know before. (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
See. When you do background reading everything is a lot simpler. My sister refuses to do these kinds of readings with me, she finds them boring and pretty much dull and non-informative. .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. Such a pity though. I think background information on what you want to learn is just as important as what you are learning.
What I learnt & how I learnt it
あいえうお
Vowels. A I E U O
That was typed from memory. (๑>ᴗ<๑) To someone who can read and write Japanese like a mild-pro you might think its nothing, but to me, its fun. I see the beginning of more book habits xD. Novels I can buy in maybe a year or two. Makes me smile.
かきくけこ
K-column : Ka Ki Ku Ke Ko
I don’t know the reason, but this happens to be the most fun column in terms of pronunciation so far, I am only on the third one so this will probably change in about 2 hours. Haha.
さしすせそ
S-column : Sa Shi Su Se So
I love the exception in pronunciation for the し Hiranaga, its just like Korean, so when I read it was something that a new learner should remember, seeing as it doesn’t follow the set rules of the previous ones, to me I was like nah for me this is totally fine, one less exception for my mind to remember, or rather for my mind to alter. The Korean one is already there lol.

I’m hoping I can complete Hiragana in 48hours (including last night) and I think I can, I have remaining columns on my chart (book and one I printed) as well as the combo Hiragana and finally the Dakuten ~ then I have Katakana which I know is premature to say but seems easy enough to handle.
The goal is tangible. And I can’t wait, then I can actually learn something, grammar and words and the not so dreading it that much Kanji characters! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶
And watching this…again later tonight, I just love the drama.
I need to watch Season 2 now ˚‧*♡ॢ˃̶̤̀◡˂̶̤́♡ॢ*‧˚ and they are both so addictive I can’t wait & its a holiday so I won’t even need to do anything else but watch drama and pretty have fun (❛ัॢᵕ❛ั ॢ)✩*ೃ.⋆
행복한 부활절 잘 보내세요 ٩(๑•◡-๑)۶ⒽⓤⒼ❤ (a post about Japanese and then I use Korean…wow..Kirsten!)
Nice job! I remember learning these, my teacher gave us stories to go along with the characters and sounds, a class favourite was け for ‘KEn and Barbie’ (Barbie with the stilettos which is the flicky thingy you do on the left stroke and Ken being the other side) … Random but it worked! XD When you get up to Katakana you might have some trouble as some look exactly like some Hangul :O Good luck! Feel free to talk to me whenever about Japanese stuff, happy to lend a hand ^^
Thank you! 🙂 Oh you use mnemonics too? I did that too. Kinda fun coming up with weird things to help you remember, I like the Ken and Barbie idea ~ mine is boring, but gets it done xD I noticed the similarities, kinda, and thought it would be helpful coming from something that looks similar. Who knows, only time will tell hehe 🙂 thank you I appreciate that and how long have you been studying Japanese? xD
Ummmm I want to learn it too don’t speak about me like I don’t like learning stuff
Please re-read that! I said you don’t like reading background info. I offered and you ignored me 🙁
